The Museum Matsushima

The former Matsushima Music Box Museum, which was forced to close due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, has reopened as “The Museum MATSUSHIMA” with the aim of becoming a representative tourist spot in Matsushima.

The museum space features more than 100 music boxes acquired from the Royal Museum of Belgium, as well as an open café, restaurant, and store, where visitors can experience the charms of Belgium.

The “Kitahara Toy Collection” is a new addition to the museum. It has been reborn as a facility where visitors can enjoy a variety of collections combined with the music box collection originally housed in the museum.
