Osaki Hachimangu Shrine

This is the oldest Gongen-zukuri structure built by Date Masamune in the Azuchi-Momoyama period, and is designated as a National Treasure. The shrine pavilion is designated as a national treasure. The long floor in front of the shrine building (wari-wai-den) is designated as an important cultural property.

Shaden (Shrine Pavilion)
The shrine was constructed by Date Masamune. The shrine is a gorgeous Gongen-zukuri style, with lacquered or painted walls, decorative paintings, and ornamental metal fittings in various places.

Take the bus bound for Oritsu, Sakunami, Kunimigaoka, or Minami Yoshinari at bus stop No. 10 or 15, or the Loople Sendai “Osaki Hachimangu-mae” at bus stop No. 16, at the West Exit Bus Terminal of JR Sendai Station.
